In my previous post I talked about the difference in being a true rock star and being a rock star in the rock star video game.
In this post I am going to show you the difference!
As I mentioned before the main difference is a true rock star learns the chords necessary to become a rock star and the video game rock star just pushed the buttons and pretends.
This is a lot like internet marketing. There are a ton of people out there that have never made a penny on the internet telling you how to make money.
Does that make any sense to you?
Now I have found a couple of videos on YouTube that shows the difference between knowing the chords and trying to be a rock star by pushing buttons.
First watch this video…
Now watch the magic button version.
You should quickly see the difference!
Did you see the difference?
Being a rock star blogger is exactly like this. If you learn the basics and take the time to develop yourself you can be a rock star blogger.
If you run around looking for the magic button that will instantly make you a rock star blogger without doing any work you will end up as a champ in the Rock Star Blogger Video Game!
I don’t consider myself a rock star blogger, I know how to make money with a blog (or two or three or a dozen) but I have never developed the huge blogging site that has tens of thousands of visitors per day, at least not yet. But I am on the road to it. I have a number of blogs that average over 200 visitors per day that were created with little work once I knew the basics.
Anyone that wants to do this can do this! But it does take time and knowledge.
You need to make up your mind! Do you want to be the Rock Star that knows the chords or do you want to be like the ones that think just pushing a button will make them a rock star?
If you are willing to put in the effort a blogging course like the one we offer at Blogging Beginners is a great way for you to get the ball rolling.

“Anyone that wants to do this can! But it does take time and knowledge.” I’d be the first to agree with that.
I”m becoming “the Rock Star that knows the chords” through the Blogging beginners Members site and I’ve learned more in the past two months than anything else I already learned in three to four years prior. So I’d say your being a little modest when you say your not a Rock Star Blogger!
Once we become Rock star material… it will then be most important to get noticed so we can play some gigs ahh? Guess you’all will be teaching us how to go about this…right?
P.S. Do you guys ever really take the weekend off?????
P.S.S. Booked and shared!

Hey DS,
Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I do take time off but I had this set to auto post before the weekend.
You should already be getting “gigs” every visitor to your blog is a “gig” that is when you are playing for the audience. This is what most bloggers miss, you need to give the audience what they want and if you have done the work you need to on keyword research and creating your posts you should be providing what your audience wants.
What a great post to get the old thoughts flowing.
I think the reason for the success of “playing Rock Star” is that there’s no fear of failure. You can stand there goofing around and the worst that can happen is your mates laugh at your missed notes!
Doing it for real means hard work and a risk of people saying “told you so” if it doesn’t work out.
For many people they’ll never find out what being even a small part session musician is like because they just won’t take the risk of not making it.
I’d rather aim high and fall short than not even taking aim

Yes, fear of failure is a big reason people don’t take the actions they need to take.
What they need is someone to yell at them every now and then, “Do It Now!”
I don’t know why you are picking on people that play Guitar Hero. I love the game and it takes some skill to play. I bet you couldn’t beat my scores

Hey GuitarGuy,
Don’t get me wrong, if you are having fun playing Guitar Hero that is great and I am sure I couldn’t beat your scores, because even with the game you have to learn somethings before you can be at the top.
I was using a metaphor being good at the Rock Star Video game can be fun and can even bring you some fame. You can see a lot of videos on YouTube with lots of views but no matter how good you get at the game it isn’t going to make you the true Rock Star until you learn how to be a true Rock Star.
The same principal applies to almost everything you will ever do. You have to learn something about it before you become good at it. Have you ever met anyone that played guitar hero for the first time that could an expert on the hardest level? I doubt it.
Blogging and Internet Marketing are just like this you need to learn the rules and techniques that actually work and not the rules for a magic button that will instantly make you rich. All these schemes can’t make you rich anymore than playing Guitar Hero makes you a true Rock Star.
The nice thing about blogging is that hopefully you are doing about something you love (guitar hero maybe) so that you can still have fun while you do it. Yes, there will be work but I bet you put in some time to be good at guitar hero too.
