Pssst! Gotta Tweet?
Robert Plank has been at it again, this time he is invading Twitter.
He created a plugin for the members of his and Lance Tamashiro’s Blog Invasion System that he calls Twitter Invader.
If you look at the bottom of this post you will see what it does. (Yes, I am a Blog Invasion member, it never hurts to learn something new and Robert’s and Lance’s brains are good ones to leech off of.)
Just looking at it you might not be able to tell why it is special. It looks like just another Twitter Tweeter but it does have one noticable difference you can see it asks for your Twitter name and Password.
Personally, I don’t like the password request but it is needed to automatically send the tweet and then bring them back to the same spot without ever leaving the page. When they come back there is a new message that can be a link to take them to a reward for tweeting.
In the settings area for Twitter Invader you can set up the text that will be presented when the tweet is completed and link it directly to reward or bribe. It makes it quick and simple to bribe and reward.
But there is another advantage that you won’t see. When a person tweets your post they will automatically follow you. AH! So you get a tweet which might bring you some traffic and you get a person following you. It doesn’t mean that they won’t unfollow you the next day.
If this is set up the proper way I can see it building your following on Twitter and getting traffic to your blog through the tweets but I want to know what you think.
Is this a plugin you think could make you money?
Is it a plugin you would be willing to pay for? Don’t worry I am not selling it I don’t have those rights. As a matter of fact, I don’t think it is available to anybody except the Blog Invasion members.
Give it a ride, you will end up following RandyTheHermit but I use tweetlater and I will auto-follow you too.
You should also know that I did tweak the appearance of the box a little to make it stand out a little more so if you don’t like the appearance remember that.
Give it a try and let me know what you think. If you don’t want to use it let me know why not.
NOTE: I have disabled the Tweet Rewards until I actually put a reward on it. When it is back up and running you will see it on every post!

I won’t use it because it asks for my password.
Isn’t there another way you can make sure it was tweeted?
Twitter is a important and I have to admit its one area that I have not been able to get comfortable with. maybe one of these programs you mentioned will help.
As for giving out my password, it all depends on the program. This one I probably would. Denise
Hi Denise,
I just really started paying attention Twitter. I guess I am a late comer to the show but it is Social Marketing and I am a Hermit
You will probably see a post on Twitter here in a little while, right now I am swamped with getting the Blogging Beginners site done and ready to launch.
But I am picking the minds of some good people like Darren Monroe, Robert Plank and a few others.
I really appreciate all the work you and Mark have done getting information for BB. You have covered all the basics and the info just keeps coming.
I just gave the program a try and will let you know my thoughts. (I really have to get a handle on tweeting)
I watched the videos on Twitter and did set up accounts for both Twitter and Tweetlater, but I don’t have the widget on my site yet mainly because I need to spend some time understanding the process. Some questions I have are:
Do I set up Twitter as public or private?
If I set it up as public, does that mean that I will have tons of people following me and is this what I want?
What are the benefits, if any, of setting up Twitter as private?
Mark did a great job at explaining all of this on the videos but it is not clear in my head yet.
About Twitter Invader…
I gave it a try and like what I saw. It can generate lots of traffic and also serve as a marketing tool.
If we set it up offering a free ebook or special report for just visiting a site for a product that we sell, it can generate some sales. This can also work promoting affiliate programs.
So, yes I do think this plugin can make me some money. Based on this, yes I would be willing to pay for the plugin as long as the price is not prohibited.

Hi Denise & Diana,
Thanks for the comments.
Diana
Twitter depends on what you are doing with it. If you are marketing you want to be public and have as many followers as you can get.
If you are actually trying to read everything that some people say you won’t follow as many people but you can still have a lot of followers if you want it makes no difference it what you see only who can direct message you. You only see the tweets of those that you follow.
But there is no rule against having more than one Twitter account. I have one I started 8 days ago that I am trying to build as many followers as I can. Solely for the purpose of getting my message in front of as many people as possible.
That is the one for RandyTheHermit
I have 2600 followers on that account and I am following 2500. If you tweet me there the odds of me seeing it are very slim.
My other account thehermitvi I only follow 200 people so I see more of what they post.
As you can see it depends on what you are doing as to how you want to handle it. It is a lot easier to figure out than grammar.
Thanks for the explanation Randy! I think I’ll stick with grammar for now.
